Reto #ManisdeHalloween: Araña

Hola chicas! ¿Como les va? Yo ya entradísima en el reto y hoy nos tocan las espantosas arañas! Peeero...ya saben, aquí veremos arañitas lindas, en especial a esta que va bajando de su telaraña: 

¿Verdad que está tierna? Para hacerla usé una plumita de esmalte negro que también usé para la telaraña. El color base es Dirty Berry de Catrice, una preciosidad. 

Aunque así me gustaba mucho, sentía que le faltaba algo más, así que en las demás uñas puse dos capas de Polka.com de OPI y fuum! :

Se ve más festivo y alegre ¿no?

Este es un look sencillito que cualquiera puede hacer -creo yo-. Espero que les haya gustado. Soy una tonta porque le puse topcoat que brilla en la oscuridad antes de dibujar a la araña y a la telaraña y ¿que creen? Olvidé tomar foto!!!! Uuuups...en fin. Espero usarlo en otro mani para poder mostrarles qué padre queda.

Lace and polka dots

 

 

Hola a tod@s!!! Al fin es viernes! :D Hoy les tengo un look bien romántico, si por ahí tienen una boda mañana, queda muy bien creo yo. Ya ven que últimamente me ha dado por usar más estos tonos claritos, así que quería probar Cookies and Cream de Ciaté, que venía en el Mini Mani Month, el calendario de adviento que sacaron el año pasado.

Es bastante parecido a Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh? de OPI, solo que C&C es un poquito más claro y la formula es más delgada. A mi parecer el OPI es mejor. Usé dos capas en estas fotos.

 

Hello everyone!!! Fridaaaayyy at laaaaast!!! :D I have a very romantic look for you today. You know how I love this soft colors! I wanted to wear an "almost nude" color so I grabbed my Ciaté Mini Mani Month Calendar and took out Cookies and Cream. This one reminds me a lot of one of my faves Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh? by OPI, they're almost identical only C&C is a tad lighter and OPI's is a whole lot better formula-wise and is also more opaque, this one is a bit thin. I used two coats.

Lo usé así solito unos tres días y después agregué nail art de encaje y lunares usando White On de Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear. Ya saben que eso de dibujar en mis uñas no me sale muy bien así que por favor usen su imaginación un poco!

 

I wore it alone for three days and then did some nail art of lace and polka dots using White On by Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear...you know I suck at drawing in my nails so please, bear with me. It's not the best lace but you get the idea!

 

 

Quería atenuar el blanco un poco así que apliqué encima una capa de Cotton Candy At Eiffel Tower de Catrice. Es de esos cremitas que se usan en el manicure francés.

I wanted to soften the white a bit, so I applied a coat of Cotton Candy At Eiffel Tower by Catrice. This is one of those sheer polishes that are used for french manicure.

Le envié una foto a mi amiga Karla y me sugirió agregarle moños y dije oh no más dibujos?! pero pues los hice, disculpen ya saben, no quedaron muy bien! Usé Salmon & Garfunkel by Catrice.

 

*Sigh*...Doesn't it look cute?! *sigh again*...

Then I sent the pic to my friend Karla and she suggested I added bows. I thought, oh no, more drawing? But I did it. Again, forgive the messy bows! (did 'em with Salmon & Garfunkel by Catrice)

Y is for Yellow Sub-Mandarin

Hello dolls! I have totally forgotten to tell you that I'm now on Pinterest, Bloglovin' and Instagram :)  so we can stay in touch more! I don't know if you guys had noticed the icons on the right side of the screen ;)
For this week's challenge I have Yellow Sub-Mandarin by Catrice to show you. This is a bright orange color, it's lovely, I like it a lot especially this time of year. The formula is usual Catrice perfection, no complaints at all. And their prices are very accesible. I'm still wondering when will Catrice's new line arrive to Mexico? I already have a few on my wish list, I keep checking and there's nothing new :(

 

Hola chicas! He olvidado por completo mencionarles en los posts recientes que ahora podemos estar en contacto a través de Pinterest, Bloglovin' e Instagram, además de Facebook, claro. No sé si ya habían notado los íconos en el lado derecho de la página. ;)
Para el reto de esta semana les presentaré Yellow Sub-Mandarin de Catrice. Es un naranja brillante muy lindo para esta época del año. En cuanto a la fórmula, nada que reportar. Ya conocen la perfeccion de Catrice! Y ni que se diga de sus precios! Son muy accesibles. Lo único que me tiene un poco desanimada es que no veo para cuándo va a llegar la nueva línea de Catrice a México...siento que ya tardó mucho y no veo que surtan nada nuevo. :(

 

 

I embellished three nails with  Le Invader by Cirque. Remember that colorful glitter from my last post? that one. You know while using this polish it was the first time I could smell the lavender and clary sage oils that all Cirque polishes have! The scent is subtle though, it doesn't last long.

 

The other two nails have these tiny glitter hearts by KKCenterHK. They come in a pot with multi-colored hearts. You can check them out here. They also have another pot with stars and they're soo cute! I like that you can use them as studs and they're not bulky, I know a lot of you don't feel comfortable wearing studs and these do the trick!. Decoré tres uñas con Le Invader de Cirque, ¿lo recuerdan del post anterior? es ese glitter colorido! ¿Saben que con este esmalte fue la primera vez que percibí el aroma a lavanda y salvia que se supone que tienen todos los esmaltes de Cirque? Es muy sutil así que antes no lo había notado!

 

En las otras dos uñas usé unos corazoncitos de glitter de KKCenterHK. Vienen en un potecito con muchos corazoncitos de varios colores, están muy lindos y lo que más me gusta es que parecen estoperoles, pero no hacen nada de bulto, ni se caen, ni nada y cumplen muy bien su función de decorar. Peachy's got it!

Hi girls!!! I have been longing for a peach toned mani for months now! Between the challenges and everything else I never seemed to find the time...until now. I apologize for not taking pictures while I did these to make a pictorial.

 

I did something quirky on every nail so I'll go finger by finger, okay?...am I sounding like a teacher now? hahaha....

 

Index:

Two coats of Revlon's Brilliant Strength in Provoke and sponged tips with West End Wonderland by Butter London.

 

Medium:

Two coats of Revlon's Brilliant Strength in Provoke, then I just did one brush stroke in the middle with Salmon and Garfunkel by Catrice. After that, I placed three studs from this Born Pretty Store studs wheel and used nail glue to make sure they stayed on longer.

 

Ring finger:

This one's tricky. I started off with two coats of Salmon and Garfunkel by Catrice, then I did a "V" shaped tip, a coat of Seche Vite, and when that was dry I used tape to help me form the gold triangle in the middle with Infinity Band by Sally Hansen. This was inspired by this design from Camille @Pshiiit, my idol and the one to blame for the existence of this blog. <3

 

Pinky:

Two coats of Silk by Petals Beauty Concept and then I formed a V tip overlapping Provoke and Infinity Band.

 

Thumb: (not very visible on the pics)

Two coats of Salmon and Garfunkel and V tip featuring Provoke and Silk overlapped.

 

..and that's that.

Hola, hola chicas! como están? Hoy les traigo un mani de tonos durazno al que ya le traía muchas ganas, pero entre el reto y todo lo demás no me había dado tiempo, hasta ahora. La verdad estaba tan emocionada haciéndolo que olvide tomar fotos para hacer el pictorial.

 

Como hice cositas diferentes en cada uña, haré una breve explicación de cada una,  de acuerdo?

 

Indice:

Dos capas de Provoke de Revlon Brilliant Strength y puntas con glitter degradado con West End Wonderland de Butter London.

 

Medio:

Dos capas de Provoke y un brochazo en medio de Salmon and Garfunkel de Catrice. Después coloqué con pegamento para uñas unos studs incluidos en esta rueda de Born Pretty Store.

 

Anular:

Este es el más complicadito. Dos capas de Salmon and Garfunkel, después hice una punta en "V" con Provoke y aplique una capa de Seche Vite. Ya que secó, me ayude de cinta mágica para formar el triángulo dorado con Infinity Band de Sally Hansen. Este diseño fue inspirado por este otro de Camille @Pshiiit, mi ídolo y la culpable de que este blog exista! <3

 

Meñique:

Dos capas de Silk de Petals Beauty Concept y una punta en V con Provoke e Infinity Band.

 

Pulgar: (casi no se ve en las fotos)

Dos capas de Salmon and Garfunkel y punta en V con Provoke y Silk.

 

...y eso es todo.

Razzle Me Dazzle Me

Hello nailistas!! This time I have Razzle Me Dazzle Me to show you. It's from the Glitz Bitz 'n Pieces collection by China Glaze. This one has been around for a few months but I just got it last sunday. When this collection first came out I decided to pass on it because I just didn't feel attracted to black glitter back then. But after using Glitter Girl by Lush Lacquer I started liking it.

 

Razzle Me Dazzle Me is basically black glitter in several shapes and sizes combined with very pale pink hexagonal and micro glitter in a clear base. On these pics I'm wearing two coats of Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh? by OPI and then only one coat of Razzle Me Dazzle Me. Like any polish of this kind, you do have to dabble a bit to place the glitters where you want them but I didn't expect it to deliver so much glitter in just one coat! I think it's great! :)

 

But of course, us nailistas can't leave anything alone so I wanted to play with this one.

And then a glitter sandwich with Cotton Candy At Eiffel Tower by Catrice (Isn't that the best name ever?!!) Only one coat over it all. On this pic below you can see the pink in the glitters a little better.

Hola chicas!!! Hoy tengo Razzle Me Dazzle Me para mostrarles. Este esmalte salió ya desde diciembre del año pasado como parte de la colección Glitz Bitz 'N Pieces de China Glaze. Los esmaltes de esta colección son todos basados en el glitter negro, tanto hexagonal, micro y de barra suspendidos en una base transparente. Y nada más varían los colores con los que los combinaron: negro con azul, negro con rosa, negro con verde, etc.

En su momento, yo no quise comprar ninguno (una decisión difícil porque aquí si no te lo llevas, seguro cuando regreses ya no hay) porque no me llamaba para nada la atención el glitter negro. Después llego febrero y con él mi adorado Glitter Girl de Lush Lacquer que contiene muchas partículas negras y la verdad me gustó. Pero ya era demasiado tarde.

 

Hasta el domingo pasado! Sorpresa, sorpresa volvieron a resurtir esta colección y elegí este que es glitter negro con rosa muy pálido y me encantó. Me gusta porque ayuda a hacer manicures chocochip jaja! ....oooo de huevos de avestruz, pero eso no suena muy bien! ;)

Para este mani, usé una capa de Nail Envy de OPI como base, dos capas de Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh? de OPI y una capa de Razzle Me Dazzle Me de China Glaze. Finalizando con una capa de Seche Vite.

 

Y por supuesto que como no puedo dejar nada en paz, me puse a jugar un poco.

Aquí se los muestro matificado:

Un glitter sándwich también ¿por qué no? con Cotton Candy At Eiffel Tower de Catrice, el nombre más dulce que un esmalte puede tener!

P is for Palm Trees

Hello everybody!!! Aaahhh at last my life has calmed down and hopefully now I can do better nail art! For this letter P challenge (can you believe it? P already) I felt inspired by the beautiful palm trees at sunset and tried to create a similar look doing a gradient. I know it's not the name of a polish or brand, but I really wanted to do these! I hope it counts as 'nail art name'. :D

Let's see how it turned out:

I feel like I should've used brighter colors, but I liked the smoothness of the gradient. I hope you do too. Also please forgive the crappy palm trees!

The colors I used are listed below from lighter to darker:

Silk- Petals Beauty Concept

Salmon & Garfunkel- Catrice

Pink Friday- OPI

Secret Peri-Winkle- China Glaze

I first applied one coat of Silk, and then proceeded to sponge the rest of the colors about three times per nail. Finished off with two coats of Seche Vite.

P de Palmeras!

Hola a tod@s! Como les va? Para mi afortunadamente ya esta todo tranquilo y espero poder hacer más diseños y más bonitos próximamente!

Increíble como vuela el tiempo y ya estamos en la letra P del reto ABC de Kimber's Lacquer Korner. Para este reto me sentí inspirada por una imagen de palmeras al atardecer e intente recrear la escena en mis uñas.

Los colores que usé son los siguientes en orden de más claro a más oscuro:

Silk- Petals Beauty Concept

Salmon & Garfunkel- Catrice

Pink Friday- OPI

Secret Peri-Winkle- China Glaze

Para lograr este look comencé con una capa de Silk, y después proseguí con el degradado. Esta vez use una técnica diferente.

1. Sobre una bolsa de plástico pinta las líneas de cada color.

2. Con un palillo mezcla los colores en las orillas haciendo circulitos donde termina un color e inicia otro.

3. Humedece una esponja de maquillaje y presiónala contra la pintura en la bolsa.

 

 

4. Aplica la esponja sobre tu uña y muévela ligeramente hacia arriba y hacia abajo para que se mezclen bien los colores.

Tip: No uses más de 4-6 veces el mismo pedazo de esponja porque empezara a desprender pedacitos que se quedarán pegados a tu uña. Ve girando la esponja y pinta en un lugar diferente.

5. Repite varias veces estos pasos hasta lograr la saturación de color que desees.

6. El acabado será mate así que aplica unas dos capas de brillo.

Fácil no? Toma tiempo, pero no es difícil y los resultados te encantarán!

Las palmeras las hice con una pluma de esmalte pero no me gustaron mucho, jeje...nos vemos pronto!

I is for I Don't Give a Rotterdam

 

Hi lovelies!! ...a little aggressive name for a polish, huh? Well, from the moment the challenge began I knew I wanted to wear I Don't Give a Rotterdam for letter I. At first I felt like this shade didn't go well with my skintone, but after wearing it for two days I felt a lot more comfortable with it. Besides, it's not like that would stop me from wearing a polish. When I like a polish, I wear it. I don't care if it doesn't look good on me. I'm stubborn like that about nail polish! :P

 

I Don't Give a Rotterdam by OPI is a blueish grey with very fine gold shimmer. The formula is thin, so I applied three coats. I wore it alone for two days and then I felt inspired by the bird logo silhouette from Aerie on this old sweatshirt I own and I thought I'd try to draw it. I often don't draw on my nails because when I finish drawing I feel like no one really understands what I supposedly did.

But....I got to keep on trying so that maybe someday I'll be better at it!

On my ring finger I did something simpler. A branch with leaves haha! For the nail art I used How I Matt Your Mother by Catrice (the darker shade) and Infinity Band by Sally Hansen Diamond Strength (gold).

Hola chicas! Como están? Desde que comenzó el reto sabía que quería usar este esmalte por primera vez para la letra I: I Don't Give a Rotterdam. Es un gris azulado con shimmer dorado muy fino. En la botella luce lindísimo. Cuando me lo puse la verdad no me encantó, sentí como que el color no iba bien con mi tono de piel pero al pasar los días creo que me fui acostumbrando. Cabe mencionar que soy tan caprichosa con los esmaltes que no me importa que no me luzca el color! Cuando quiero un esmalte, lo quiero y punto! jijiji

 

I Don't Give a Rotterdam de OPI es de formula delgada y me tomo tres capas lograr la opacidad. Después de usarlo solito dos días se me ocurrió hacerle un nail art inspirado en el pajarito logo de la marca de ropa Aerie, lo han visto? Esta linda la silueta y la intenté imitar de una sudadera viejisima que tengo :P Espero que si la hayan captado!!! Casi nunca me aviento a hacer dibujos porque cuando termino siento que no se entienden, pero necesito practicar si no, nunca me van a salir bien jajaja...

También hice una ramita con sus hojas. Para el nail art usé 890 How I Matt Your Mother de Catrice (el tono oscuro) y 504 Infinity Band de Sally Hansen Diamond Strength (dorado) que me regaló mi queridísima amiga Linda ;)

D is for Dirty Berry

Oopsie! I am posting this one day late for the ABC Challenge! This week has been sooo chaotic I just couldn't sit down, edit the pics and write. I almost didn't have time to paint my nails! But today is a bit more peaceful so here I am.

 

Yesterday I found that  I Relish Nail Polish also chose Dirty Berry! and Criminal Nails was about to as well! :) so this was a popular choice. It must be because this is a very pretty purple, it has some holographic shimmer in it, but is quite subtle. Either way Catrice has an awesome formula that makes it very easy to apply. 

 

On my ring finger I applied two coats of Rimmel London Disco Ball which is blue and silver holographic glitter in a clear base. And on my index finger I applied one coat of Rimmel London Pompous and stamped Bundle Monster's BM-223 with No Place Like Chrome by Essie.

Hola, hola chicas! Apenas hoy voy publicando este post que era para ayer! jaja esta semana ha sido bastante caótica pero al fin hoy he encontrado un ratito de paz para poder publicar mi manicure! ayer vi que este esmalte fue una elección popular de varias blogueras en el reto y como no iba a ser si esta divino!! su nombre? Dirty Berry de Catrice!

 

Es un moradito bajito con un poco de brillo holográfico pero no es muy evidente. En mi dedo anular apliqué dos capas de Disco Ball de Rimmel London. Este es un glitter con brillos azules y plateados holográficos. En mi dedo índice aplique una capa de Pompous de Rimmel London (un morado mas fuerte con shimmer plateado) y le hice stamping con la placa BM-223 de Bundle Monster.

Lavender Sparkle

Hi dolls! Today is my birthday! I'm turning 30!! I'm a little bit overwhelmed!...but well, let's talk nails and polishes!

The last time I travelled I got this OPI polish at the duty free, but I must admit I have been very disappointed by it. It's name? It's Totally Fort-Worth It (ironic, huh? cause it's totally not!) it is from the Texas 2011 collection. It will catch your eye, just look at the bottle:

 

It appears to be a cute grey-lavender with pink shimmer...and it is. The problem is that you can't ever reach full opacity with this one, it is so absolutely TRANSPARENT!

So, to make this work I had to wear undies...I used Catrice's Sing: Hey Dirty Lilah!, two coats. This polish looks totally grey on the bottle. I was actually taken back when I read the name, but yep, on the nail it does look lilac. Here's a pic so you can see it on the nails. I am soo loving this polish!!!

 

And then the Fort-Worth it...I only applied one coat. It made my nails super shiny and the pink shimmer was there, but barely. Then I sponged the tips with Be-Jewelled by Sally Hansen Gem Crush.

On the ring finger of my left hand I did an accent nail with a tiny crown. I tried stamping one but I just couldn't. So I drew it, even though I suck at it! I used Cabaret by Ciaté and these little "nail diamonds". I hope you liked it! Enjoy your sunday :)

ESPAÑOL:

Hola muñecas! Hoy es mi cumpleeee! Cumplo 30 :O ... un poco abrumada por eso, pero bueno...a lo que voy! La ultima vez que viaje compré en el duty-free este esmalte de OPI llamado It's Totally Fort-Worth It (es un juego de palabras pero quiere decir que Vale Totalmente la Pena!) un nombre bastante irónico porque para mi fue una total decepción. En la botella se ve super lindo como un lavanda grisáceo con iridiscente rosado y sí lo es, pero también es super, hiper, mega...transparente. Jamás lograrás cobertura total con él.

En fin, pues entonces puse dos capas de Sing: Hey Dirty Lilah! de Catrice debajo de una capa de It's Totally Fort-Worth It, le dió mucho brillo y la iridiscencia rosada se noto pero muy, muy poco.

Encima de esto puse Be-Jewelled de Sally Hansen Gem Crush en las puntas con una esponja. En mi mano izquierda hice una accent nail en el dedo anular pintando una coronita, me quedó bastante mal pero bueno jijiji ;P

C is for Caviar Pearls & Chevron Mani!

Hi dear ladies!! Today's challenge is for the letter C! I had wanted to do a chevron manicure ever since I saw Kimber's post for the 31 day challenge's red nails. I hadn't done it because for me, tape manis are a real P.I.T.A!!! but the results are awesome.

I started with my basecoat Nail Envy by OPI, then applied two coats of Revlon's Rich Raspberry and a coat of Seche Vite.

When that was dry, I placed the tape to form the chevron and then applied a coat of LA Colors Color Craze Lush Lavendar and took off the tape almost right away. After that I didn't feel like using tape again, so I did the blue part by hand. It's George Blueney by Catrice. (LOL! Love the name!). And finally the Seche Vite, again.

The accent nails have caviar pearls instead. These are called Prom Queen by Ciaté and I outlined them with striping tape. I flooded them with Seche Vite on top because I've heard these tend to fall off quite fast so... let's see how long they survive it's my first time using them...I will update that info later. ;)

ESPAÑOL:

Hola chicas! El reto de hoy es con la letra "C" de Caviar y Chevrón!. Caviar porque así se les llama a las mini perlitas que tengo en mi dedo anular y chevrón por el símbolo que hice en las uñas, yo no sabía qué significaba esta palabra así que le inserte un link por si acaso ustedes tambien tienen la duda.

Bueno al grano!...Empecé con mi basecoat Nail Envy de OPI, dos capas de Rich Raspberry de Revlon y una capa de Seche Vite para acelerar un poco el proceso. Ya que se secó, puse la cinta adhesiva y una capa de Lush Lavendar de LA Colors Color Craze. Para la parte azul ya me dio flojera volver a poner la cinta así que lo hice a mano. El tono es George Blueney de Catrice (no les encanta el nombre? es como George Clooney!!! jajaja)

Respecto a las perlitas de caviar...pues es de esas cosas que tengo varias y nada más no las había usado!!! Es la primera vez, así que me va a faltar contarles las experiencia. Por esta vez lo único que cambié fue que las inundé en topcoat! En el instructivo no dice que lo hagas pero una amiga me dijo que si no les pones topcoat se caen muy rápido. Peeeero también importa qué topcoat uses, en una mano usé Seche Vite y no tuve problema pero en la otra mano usé Clearly Quick de Sally Hansen Insta-Dri y se corrió el color de las perlitas :(
