D is for Dirty Berry

Oopsie! I am posting this one day late for the ABC Challenge! This week has been sooo chaotic I just couldn't sit down, edit the pics and write. I almost didn't have time to paint my nails! But today is a bit more peaceful so here I am.

 

Yesterday I found that  I Relish Nail Polish also chose Dirty Berry! and Criminal Nails was about to as well! :) so this was a popular choice. It must be because this is a very pretty purple, it has some holographic shimmer in it, but is quite subtle. Either way Catrice has an awesome formula that makes it very easy to apply. 

 

On my ring finger I applied two coats of Rimmel London Disco Ball which is blue and silver holographic glitter in a clear base. And on my index finger I applied one coat of Rimmel London Pompous and stamped Bundle Monster's BM-223 with No Place Like Chrome by Essie.

Apenas hoy voy publicando este post que era para ayer! jaja esta semana ha sido bastante caótica pero al fin hoy he encontrado un ratito de paz para poder publicar mi manicure! ayer vi que este esmalte fue una elección popular de varias blogueras en el reto y como no iba a ser si esta divino!! su nombre? Dirty Berry de Catrice!

 

Es un moradito bajito con un poco de brillo holográfico pero no es muy evidente. En mi dedo anular apliqué dos capas de Disco Ball de Rimmel London. Este es un glitter con brillos azules y plateados holográficos. En mi dedo índice aplique una capa de Pompous de Rimmel London (un morado mas fuerte con shimmer plateado) y le hice stamping con la placa BM-223 de Bundle Monster.

Día de Muertos!

Hola a todos!!! Hoy les presento este manicure que hice para el día de muertos. Hice un degradado morado y al final con stamping puse una calaverita y sus flores. Es la primera vez que hago stamping!! No quedo muy bien pero bueno por algo se empieza, veamos!!

Utilice los tonos que se observan en la foto y la placa 29 de Mash:

31 DAY CHALLENGE Day 8: METALLIC NAILS!!!!

Hey guys!! Doing this nails was such an adventure! When I started setting up all my materials to paint my nails in the dining room table my husband passed by and said "Careful not to knock the remover over on the table"...to which I responded "of course not, it is closed, look" ...then I began to paint my nails.

Remember I told you about Lush Lavendar a beautiful silver-lilac shimmer polish by L.A. Colors color craze? Well I did two coats and it was still very sheer and since I definitely didn't plan to put 5 coats on I changed plans. I decided to apply a coat of Grey Matter by Rimmel underneath which is -as its name indicates- a plain creamy gray.

 

I ended up a bit disappointed because even when it did cover up well it made my Lush Lavendar look just silver! It took away all the reflections it has. :(

I did an accent nail with a lightning bolt and it was so hard to do!!!! Lol! I guess it was because I was a bit impatient and ruined it the first time so I had to do it again. It turned out ok I think.

 

And just when I reached for my Seche Vite guess what happened? I knocked over the polish remover on the wooden dining table!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG! I had opened it when I corrected my lightning bolts and didn't close it!!!! The worst thing was that I tried to dry it with the first thing I could grab: cotton. Worst idea ever because it removed a layer of the paint. Oops! Catastrophe!
I guess if I hadn't done that it would've evaporated and not done so much damage but well, what's done its done. I'm telling you this to remind you to be extra careful when you're working with nail polish remover and nail polish. :( though in mind I think my husband jinxed it! Lol!

Well, that was my accident with these metallic nails.

31 DAY CHALLENGE Day 6: VIOLET NAILS :)

Hello ladies! The color of the day is Violet! This time I did a little leopard print using Lively Lilac by Rimmel (cream) as a base and for the prints I used Not so Blueberry by Revlon (shimmer). This Revlon polish is from the Scented line, and they do smell nice once its dry (cause if you smell it from the bottle it'll be awful I promise!!) they even smell after applying the topcoat...a little less of course, and after a few days the scent will be gone. I own a few of these scented polishes and they are all yummy! I found myself sniffing my hands constantly while it lasted! Since I still don't own any stamping equipment I did this all by hand and I was surprised at how easy and fast it was. I used an orange wood stick as a dotting tool.

 

I also did an accent nail on my left hand with Lush Lavendar by L.A. Colors Color Craze. I had never used this color before but I bought it because its a lavender-y type of silver and since silver is not very flattering on my skin tone I thought this might look a little better and I guess I was right because I was amazed by how many colors this polish has in its glitters! It has silver, pink, blue, wow!!!! I'm dying to wear it again!

Minted & Lively Lilac

Este tono Minted de Revlon me encanta! siento que queda muy bien para el verano pero también para el otoño para combinar con toda esa ropa linda que salió en tonos pastel :)

En lo que esperaba para secarse me di cuenta de lo lindo que luce este color por si solo...a poco no?



Y bueno pues ya que andamos en esto....se me ocurrió hacerle unas decoraciones que vi una vez en un bikini a ver si les gusta:

Hacer esto es super fácil y en verdad no toma mucho tiempo, siempre digo que en lo que mas me tardo es en esperar a que sequen las primeras 2 capas!! ...y si es cierto, trato de esperar al menos 40 minutos después de aplicar el primer color antes de empezar con el nail art porque por ejemplo, en este caso hay que poner estampitas para formar el corazón lila y si no ha secado bien el color de abajo...horror!!! se te viene el barniz a la hora de despegar la estampita!! noooo!!!..Así que es mejor esperar, y ya cuando pones la capa del decorado y los puntitos les juro que seca rapidísimo y te puedes ayudar de un topcoat de secado rápido como Seche Vite o Insta-Dry de Sally Hansen.

Aquí les pongo una fotito de como puse las estampas para formar el corazón:

El tono Lila es Lively Lilac de Rimmel y para los puntos volví a ocupar Minted. Utilice un palito para bajar la cutícula para hacer los puntos, pero puedes usar cualquier cosa desde un lápiz hasta un palillo o un alfiler.
