S is for Sally Hansen

 

Hello lovey doveys!! I'm very happy today, I'm having a pretty nice day. Not only do I have on one of my favorite polishes but I went shopping this morning and oh!...I got so many pretty polishes I'm super excited, I got nail mail...oh! and on top of that my stamping worked? woohoo!!!...see? I told you I was having a good day! :D

So today I'm late again posting this week's challenge for letter "S", but I'm telling you, it was worth the wait because look at this beauty! It's called 506 Mermaid's Tale by another favorite brand of mine: Sally Hansen. It is a blue jelly base with blue and green hex glitter and blue micro glitter...an incredible combo! On these pics I'm wearing three coats, it builds up really well and dries quickly.

 

Hola chicas!!! Estoy super feliz hoy! Estoy teniendo un muy buen día. No solo traigo puesto uno de mis esmaltes preferidos sino que fui de compritas esta mañana y consegui unos esmaltes preciosos!! estoy super emocionada, recibi correo con accesorios para las uñas...ah! y encima de todo mi stamping funciono?...si!!...ven? les dije que estaba teniendo un buen día! :D

De nuevo esta semana estoy atrasada con el reto, esta vez toca la letra "S" pero honestamente, creo que les va a gustar mucho. Esta belleza que les presento hoy se llama 506 Mermaid's Tale de Sally Hansen, otra de mis marcas preferidas. Mermaid's Tale es una base jelly azul con glitters hexagonales verdes y azules y micro-glitters azules...una excelente combinación! En estas fotos llevo tres capas porque sí es algo transparentosa pero se logra cubrir muy bien y seca rápido por lo mismo que es jelly.

Inevitably, I wanted to play with the name, you know tale/tail... So I stamped my ring finger with the plate Mash-39 to simulate the scales of a mermaid's tail! For the stamping I used another Sally Hansen: Infinity Band. Then finished with a coat of Seche Vite.

 

El nombre del esmalte me hizo pensar en un juego de palabras en inglés porque tale y tail se pronuncian igual pero significan distintas cosas. La primera, cuento, y la segunda, cola. Así que pensé en la cola de una sirena y usé la placa Mash-39 para estampar este diseñito que parecen escamas con Infinity Band, también de Sally Hansen. Después selle todo con una capa de Seche Vite.

I love the result! I don't plan to remove this any time soon...mwahaha. Don't forget to check out my co-challengers manis!

I is for I Don't Give a Rotterdam

 

Hi lovelies!! ...a little aggressive name for a polish, huh? Well, from the moment the challenge began I knew I wanted to wear I Don't Give a Rotterdam for letter I. At first I felt like this shade didn't go well with my skintone, but after wearing it for two days I felt a lot more comfortable with it. Besides, it's not like that would stop me from wearing a polish. When I like a polish, I wear it. I don't care if it doesn't look good on me. I'm stubborn like that about nail polish! :P

 

I Don't Give a Rotterdam by OPI is a blueish grey with very fine gold shimmer. The formula is thin, so I applied three coats. I wore it alone for two days and then I felt inspired by the bird logo silhouette from Aerie on this old sweatshirt I own and I thought I'd try to draw it. I often don't draw on my nails because when I finish drawing I feel like no one really understands what I supposedly did.

But....I got to keep on trying so that maybe someday I'll be better at it!

On my ring finger I did something simpler. A branch with leaves haha! For the nail art I used How I Matt Your Mother by Catrice (the darker shade) and Infinity Band by Sally Hansen Diamond Strength (gold).

Hola chicas! Como están? Desde que comenzó el reto sabía que quería usar este esmalte por primera vez para la letra I: I Don't Give a Rotterdam. Es un gris azulado con shimmer dorado muy fino. En la botella luce lindísimo. Cuando me lo puse la verdad no me encantó, sentí como que el color no iba bien con mi tono de piel pero al pasar los días creo que me fui acostumbrando. Cabe mencionar que soy tan caprichosa con los esmaltes que no me importa que no me luzca el color! Cuando quiero un esmalte, lo quiero y punto! jijiji

 

I Don't Give a Rotterdam de OPI es de formula delgada y me tomo tres capas lograr la opacidad. Después de usarlo solito dos días se me ocurrió hacerle un nail art inspirado en el pajarito logo de la marca de ropa Aerie, lo han visto? Esta linda la silueta y la intenté imitar de una sudadera viejisima que tengo :P Espero que si la hayan captado!!! Casi nunca me aviento a hacer dibujos porque cuando termino siento que no se entienden, pero necesito practicar si no, nunca me van a salir bien jajaja...

También hice una ramita con sus hojas. Para el nail art usé 890 How I Matt Your Mother de Catrice (el tono oscuro) y 504 Infinity Band de Sally Hansen Diamond Strength (dorado) que me regaló mi queridísima amiga Linda ;)
