A Sweet Mani for a Sweet Girl

Hola chicas! Hoy les traigo un look dulce que hasta puede parecer un tanto cursi! Pero ¿a quien quiero engañar? Si yo soy bastante cursi =P !!!...Comencé aplicando dos capas de Rosa Pastel de Bissú. Este color me gusta mucho porque es un rosita bien bajito pero de muy buena cobertura. Además tiene como que unos tintes lavanda y eso lo hace único!

Encima de Rosa Pastel, apliqué una sola capa de Girly de Revlon. Este glitter sandwich es muy traslucido por lo que yo recomiendo siempre aplicar un color base. Lo padre es que lo puedes aplicar sobre tonos claros u obscuros y se ve bien :) 

Con una sola capa, los glitters de Girly brillan mucho! así que para atenuarlos puse una capa de Manicure Francés de Maybelline Forever Strong Pro (es el clásico rosita traslucido del manicure francés). Ya así ya quedó como quería. 

En mi dedo anular hice una accent nail con Keep Calm, Paint On de China Glaze y con ayuda de cinta adhesiva, unas tijeras con corte en zig zag y Cloud Nine de Color Club, hice un patrón en zig zag. Los corazones son de KKCenterHK del potecito que les presenté anteriormente.

Hello girls! Today I have a very girly manicure to show. I started with two coats of Rosa Pastel by Bissú and then one coat of Girly by Revlon. Girly was shining a lot, so to mute it a bit, I added one coat of French Manicure by Maybelline Forever Strong Pro. My index finger has Keep Calm, Paint On by China Glaze and then with the help of tape and some zig zag scissors I did a zig zag pattern with Cloud Nine by Color Club. The hearts are from KKCenterHK from the small pot I showed you before.

Todo este tierno manicure lo hice pensando en Talia Joy, la chica que perdió su batalla contra el cáncer la semana pasada. Siempre es impactante ver a alguien que vive con algo tan triste y aún así decide ser feliz. Así era ella y creo que por su alegre actitud ante la adversidad es que todos la recordaremos. El viernes pasado Nicole de Nail Polish Wars organizó que todas hicieramos un manicure color menta en honor a Talia, porque su ultimo post en Instagram fue una foto de un manicure en este color, y fue impresionante ver cuanta gente lo hizo!! Seguro que ella se sintió contenta de ver que tanta gente la seguía! Y fue hermoso ver que tanta gente se uniera a recordarla de esta manera. Yo la verdad no traía nada de ganas de usar el color porque casi, casi me lo acababa de quitar, pero pues bueno, este mani en verdad es en honor a ella <3

You probably have heard about the passing of Talia Joy due to cancer. Although I hadn't heard of her before she died (yes, I have been living under a rock, he he), I wanted to join in someway to the Mint Manis for Talia Joy tribute that Nicole from Nail Polish Wars put together last friday. I was amazed by how the nail community got together and shared their mint manis in honor of this girl! It was beautiful to see... I'm sure she was smiling down on all her followers. I wanted to do it but I really wasn't feeling the color at the moment. But I did this instead, thinking of her <3

J is for Jade

Hi ladies!!! I didn't know I only have four polishes with a name that starts with a J! ...I have the app to organize the polishes and all but I haven't had the time to do it!

So, I had a hard time looking for a polish for this day of the challenge. I finally went for Jade by Bissú, a local brand. This is a beautiful pastel green and I did a skittle mani using a ton of polishes! Lol! Well, not a ton but the following:

Pastel green: Jade -Bissú

Pastel pink: Rosa Pastel- Bissú

Darker Green: Misty Jade - Rimmel London I Love Lasting Finish

Lilac: Lively Lilac-  Rimmel London I Love Lasting Finish

Aqua Glitter: Glam- Claire's and Nostalgic -LA Girl Glitter Addict.

The tiny studs are by Bedazzle. They are nail stickers actually. And with the glitter I first put on a coat of Glam by Claire's which is a very fine aqua Green glitter and then I sponged on Nostalgic by LA Girl Glitter Addict which is a chunky glitter. I did this because otherwise I would have had to apply like four or five coats and would've ended with a never drying thickness :)

For the lines I used striping tape. 

I'm happy with how it turned out, specially since I had no idea what I was going to do for today's challenge! I don't know why my brain sort of collapses under pressure. Now, I'm thinking jelly sándwich, jigsaw puzzle nail art, etc, etc that I could've done for today!

Hola chicas! Últimamente mi cerebro está como en pausa! jajaja y con este reto no fue la excepción. Tengo mucho sueño todo el día y me siento cansada, tengo una deficiencia de hierro importante debido a un problemilla de salud y ya estoy tomando medicamento y todo, pero aún así no me he sentido muy bien......En fin, espero que mis energías regresen pronto!!!

Para este reto tenía que hacer algo que iniciara con la letra J, pero buscando entre mis esmaltes me di cuenta de que sólo tengo cuatro esmaltes cuyo nombre empieza con J pueden creerlo?! Y bueno pues lo malo es que no tenía nada de ganas de usar ninguno, pero finalmente me decidí por este: Jade de Bissú. Me da mucho gusto ver que Bissú al fin le está poniendo nombres a sus esmaltes bravo!! porque siempre traían nada más unos numeritos.

Sin querer este mani fue hecho con puros esmaltes baratitos ;)...Usé varios, se los nombraré a continuación pero si tienen alguna duda de qué hice en alguna uña o cual esmalte es, pregúntenme y se los explico, puede ser aquí, en Facebook o por correo :)

Los pequeños estoperoles son de Bedazzle y de hecho son estampas para uña, lo cual hace que aplicarlos sea súper fácil. Para las líneas en los dedos anulares use cintilla. Y con el glitter la cosa estuvo así: aplique una capa de Glam de Claire's que es un glitter muy, muy fino color aqua y después usando una esponja aplique varias veces Nostalgic de LA Girl Glitter Addict, este glitter es más grande pero no tiene tanta cobertura así que para lograr que se viera así hubiera tenido que aplicar unas cuatro capas e iba a terminar con desastre grueso que nunca se iba a secar!

En general me gustó el resultado, siento que la combinación de los colores va bien. Ustedes que creen?

G is for Glitter Girl

Hi nailistas! Another wednesday, another challenge...yipee!! I'm so thankful for all the lovely comments you guys leave me, you make me so happy...seriously thank you so much! I'm also feeling extra lucky this week because yesterday Lariesa from Me, Myself and Polish notified me I had won the first prize of her 100th GFC giveaway!!! I can't believe it! Like I told her, I had never won anything before! I'm so super excited to get some more of those incredible indie polishes! Thank you so, so much Lariesa! :D

Okay, so I think many of us will pick glitter today because glitter polishes are awesome in so many ways :) . I chose a polish called Glitter Girl by the independent brand Lush Lacquer.

This is the first time I ordered something from Karin & Lexi's shop at Etsy, and everything went on perfectly! It took it twenty days to be on my doorstep :) five days to ship and fifteen days to get here...you might think that's a lot but for international shipments I think its average. It's also my first time buying independent brand polishes!

If you go to their store I'm pretty sure you'll fall in love with more than one of their awesome creations.

Glitter Girl has a combination of purple, pink, black, white and silver holographic glitters in different shapes and sizes on a clear base. Pink and purple are my favorite colors so picking this one was a no brainer.

On the first pics you'll see Glitter Girl layered over Love Affair by Kleancolor. This was the color I was looking for when I bought Revlon's Bold Sangria! I liked the combination, but the black glitters in Glitter Girl get a bit lost in all the darkness. I'm wearing two coats of each polish.

As you can see on the pic below, the large glitters lay pretty flat and there's absolutely no curling or fishing for them....Nice! This pic is before the topcoat:

Since I am very much in love with this polish here's another look! Yes! Two looks in one post yay!

I was curious of how Glitter Girl would look over a lighter base color, so I applied two coats of  Rosa Pastel (which means Pastel Pink) by Bissú, a mexican brand, and then only one coat of Glitter Girl applied diagonally. I also placed a few large glitters using a dotting tool.

Hola chicas!!! Estoy muy emocionada de por primera vez presentarles un esmalte de marca independiente! Se trata de Glitter Girl de Lush Lacquer.

Lush Lacquer es el nombre de la marca de Karin y Lexi que se vende en Etsy. Tenía mucho que había visto esta marca en varios blogs pero la verdad tenía un poco de miedo de pedirlos hasta México...pero pues me animé. Los ordené, cinco días después los enviaron y quince días más tarde llegaron hasta mi casa. En total veinte días. No sé pero siento que estuvo bien, creo que más o menos eso tardan los envíos internacionales.

Este esmalte me encanto obviamente porque en su mayoría tiene rosa y morado (mis colores preferidos!) Pero también tiene blanco, negro y unos pequeñitos glitters holográficos plateados. Todos suspendidos en una base transparente.

Me encanto tanto que hice dos looks con el. En el primero apliqué dos capas de Love Affair de Kleancolor, que es el tono que buscaba cuando compré Bold Sangria de Revlon. Me gustó como se ven juntos aunque los glitters negros de Glitter Girl se pierden en la oscuridad de Love Affair.

Es por eso que quise aplicarlo sobre una base más clara como este Rosa Pastel de Bissú. Yo sé que Bissú es muy barato y eso nos puede dar la impresión de que son de baja calidad, pero últimamente he notado que esta marca no le pide nada a las demás.

Apliqué una capa de Glitter Girl en forma diagonal y coloqué manualmente algunos glitters. En general me encantó este esmalte, espero que hayan disfrutado verlo.
