U is for Universe

Hi girls! Today is time for letter U on our ABC Challenge. I admit, U was hard. I only have ONE polish with U, this one: Universe, from the Revlon Nail Art Moon Candy duos and I really wasn't feeling it, I only put it on for the challenge's sake and took it off . It's not that I don't like it, it's more that right now I don't feel like wearing brown...it'll be great for fall though!

So here it is, Universe has a delicious chocolate brown with red undertones as a base -that should be called Hershey cause I swear it looks like the chocolate!-  and then some gold flakies to put on top. Back when I got it, Zoya's Gilty was all over the place and this seemed like a decent (and cheap!) substitute. Of course, they're not even close to dupes, this one has trasluscent flakies and Gilty is really (and real!) gold... but it works fine for me.
On the pics I'm wearing two coats of the base and only one diagonal coat of flakies sealed in with a coat of Seche Vite.

That's gonna be it for today! See you soon and thanks for visiting! xoxo

Hola chicas!

Besos y abrazos. Linda tarde!

  2. Hey, Marii! We're nearly over the midweek hump! YAY!

You're just not feeling that brown. I hear ya. Been there. Still....

Nice job! You made a silk purse out of sow's ear.

Now, go get that brown off your fingertips. Stat. <3

  3. You're right, it's a lovely brown, but just not season appropriate. I keep passing over these Moon Candy polishes because the "Candy" part looks too shredded for me. But you've done a nice job with it here :)

    1. Yep the flakies are thick. Luckily for you, in the US you can go get those Zoyas, but here we don't have other choices!

  4. Love how you did the flakies just around the sides of your nails, will have to try that myself :) I agree this would be a great polish for fall

  6. I love this mani but I can totally feel you about not really wanting to wear fallish or wintery colours right now. As you said though, this mani will come handy in some months (hopefully a lot - let's hope it'll be a long summer)!

  7. This looks really lovely on you! I know what you mean though when you just don't feel a mani and take it off straight away, I have done that myself a few times haha
I bought myself a Revlon Moon Candy just today, the grey one with the pale pink flakies called Supernova. I found the flakies a bit hard to apply, they drag and bunch up a lot :/

  9. Yes, great for fall - pull that sucker out again in October. I still think it fabulous though...You can't turn off a dark polish obsession, and I feel like being a rebel.

  10. I'm not a huge fan of browns - maybe because they look horrible on my skin!!!! But I really love the gold flakies! ps. here in Italy it's cold, rainy and windy. Is it November or May????
